About this book

Empower kids ages 3+ to connect the gospel to their own actions and attitudes! From creation and fall to redemption and sanctification, this colorful rhyming storybook captures the beauty of the gospel message through simple, practical, rhyming language and illustrations that children will love to engage with.

Focusing on the way we use our hands, Abbey Wedgeworth helps children to see that God gave their hands for helping, sharing, creating, and other amazing things. When we struggle with using our hands the way God intends, we're not left on our own to do the right thing—we can look to Jesus as our example, ask God for forgiveness when we mess up, and receive the help of the Holy Spirit as we use our hands for God's glory!

A delightfully creative and insightful book that teaches our kids that Christianity is not just about behavior change, but heart change, too.

Simplifying biblical truth for children takes a lot of hard work, and Abbey has done it creatively, faithfully, and accessibly. Your Amazing Hands will help children to see the wonderful gospel story—and help parents to see gospel opportunities in everyday situations.

Jane Watkins Director of Mentoring, Growing Young Disciples

I adore how Abbey has brought her distinctive, gospel-centered encouragement and equipping to this series! Your Amazing Hands is a fun, engaging read that kids and caregivers will reach for often. They’ll find themselves slowly shaped to use their hands in a way that esteems the way Christ used his hands—to save us and bring us to himself.

If you've parented a toddler, you've probably found yourself saying something like, "Hands are for helping, not hitting." We know what it means to teach our children to use their hands to serve and help rather than harm. Abbey Wedgeworth has written a beautiful book that frames this instruction in light of the Bible's redemptive story. It will help your kids see that God is the one who made our hands and forgives us when we use them wrongly. His Spirit empowers us to use hands for his redemptive purposes!

Jared Kennedy Pastor of Families, Sojourn Community Church, Louisville, Kentucky; author of The Beginner's Gospel Story Bible

One of the most important ways we can train young children is to teach them what is right as well as teach them what is wrong. In the Training Young Hearts series Abbey Wedgeworth faithfully shows children how to live while also telling them the good news of God’s grace. These board books are such an engaging (and fun!) way to teach big truths to young hearts.

The Training Young Hearts board books will help parents encourage positive behavior through one of the most effective methods of learning—play! These engaging books will not only instruct kids but parents too, by equipping both with training refrains based in biblical truths. Abbey has provided us with an incredible tool to help us clearly and intentionally communicate with our kiddos in a way that points to them to Jesus.

(Review written for 'Your Amazing Hands (ebook)')

This book follows on from the toddler books by Abbey (”What are hands/eye/mouths/ears for"). It is aimed at kids aged 3+ but I think it would work all the way through early years and key stage one. It follows the format of previous books by detailing all the positive things we can do with our hands and also that God created our hands.
