This 8-session Bible study by Ligon Duncan opens a window onto church life among the earliest Christians. Paul's letters to the Thessalonians explore what it means to live in the light of the coming return of Christ.
Each session will draw you to look closely at the Bible text and apply it meaningfully to your everyday life. It includes questions that open up discussion, optional personal reflections and a concise Leader’s Guide.
Flexible and easy to use, Good Book Guides are perfect for both groups and individuals.
Features:
“Each guide in this series provides a framework for your group to dig into the text of Scripture for itself while providing enough of a steer to keep you on track, plus useful pointers towards application. The result is a great combination of fidelity to Scripture and ease of use.” Tim Chester, Crosslands Training; Author

We have been using Thessalonians for You as a basis for our Bible study and reflection on our small midweek group, and we have so appreciated Ligon's insights and challenges. There is more than enough material for each 1 hour session so we have focused in on those aspects which seemed most relevant and helpful to group members. We are a group of older Christians who come from a diverse range of backgrounds from Pentecostal to Catholic charismatic, although all now in the same local church. We have all been able to engage well with this book and have found ...that it has helped us not only to dive deep beneath the surface of Thessalonians but also to respond tot he challenge of putting the principles into practice in our own lives. We find it best when the Scripture passage and the relevant section of the book are read before we meet together but, even when this is not possible, we have gained much from discussing the contents together. Such a helpful read.

We've used these Good Book Guides for a number of years for our lifegroups. They're a brilliant level of support for the leaders of those groups to have enough content to lead a session, with a good balance of more basic understanding questions and some deeper application questions. I would say that we never need all the questions available in the book, so normally spend an hour before the session choosing the ones which seem most relevant for our group and the ones which take us through the main points of the passage. These are also sold at a really ...affordable price meaning we can buy enough for every lifegroup leader to have a copy. Definitely recommended.

Ligon Duncan has done a fantastic job of unpacking 1 and 2 Thessalonians verse by verse, providing rich, deep, new understanding for the reader.
It has been a wonderful resource to help me dig a lot deeper into the meaning within each passage, not allowing me to overlook anything. It has been very profound.
This guide can be used either as a personal study guide or in a group. When done in a group setting there is a very helpful guide in the back to help guide discussion, allowing one to lead a session with minimal preparation (a real plus for those with busy schedules).
I recommend!
