The Good Book Company sent this one to me by accident and honestly what a happy accident. This book is an awesome resource for families to use to memorize scripture together! Geared towards families with school age children, this book addresses topics like self-control with screen time, a servants heart for chores, remembering God is with you, temptation to sin, etc. Each topic begins with a verse to work on memorizing together. Both Old and New Testament verses are included. Activities are provided to help with the memory work and 5 short devotionals accompany each passage memorized. I like that ...the passages vary in length and are meant to be memorized by the entire family.
What I Love:
Games and activities to help memorize scripture
The focus on memorizing as a family
Devotions include the context of the verses
Emphasis on applying the verses to your life
I know that one of the things I hope I pass to my children is a love of God’s word! My kids memorize things so easily and it’s a joy to fill their hearts with scripture that they will remember into their adult lives. I can’t even tell you how many passages I memorized as a child and still remember (thanks, AWANA). What a gift this book is to families! Highly recommend grabbing a copy if you have kids 6+ and want to be more intentional about memorizing together!

In Storing Up Treasure, Kyle Bjerga shares 30 memory verses to learn, live, and love. The book is divided into four sections: Moments in My Day, Moments in My Life, Thinking About Myself and God, and How I Feel.
This book is highly interactive, functioning much like a devotional journal with a variety of prompts and activities. The “Go Deeper” sections help readers understand each verse. The “Go Wider” sections take readers across the Bible to explore each theme further. ...The “Get Creative” sections provide activities and ideas that help children engage with Scripture in meaningful ways.
A Chest Full of Gold
Storing Up Treasure includes verses from both the Old and New Testaments, and they are excellent selections. From Lamentations 3:22–23 to Colossians 3:12, these passages are among the most treasured verses in Scripture. It also includes passages that address temptation, sin, and confession—topics I was glad to see covered in a children’s book.
What I love most about this book is that it is designed for parents and children to journey together in memorizing Scripture. It helps put the whole family on the same page as they grow in God’s Word. Storing Up Treasure is a chest full of gold, helping families hide God’s Word in their hearts together.
I received a media copy of Storing Up Treasure and this is my honest review.

This is such an amazing resource!! Helping my kids memorize God’s Word has become increasingly important to me because children often memorize so naturally—and what a gift to help hide these truths in their hearts as a foundation for the years ahead.
What I especially love about Storing Up Treasure is how practical and doable it feels. The format is excellent for family devotions: each week centers on one verse and includes five short sections that help families learn, discuss, ...apply, create, and celebrate together. It doesn’t feel overwhelming, and it keeps Scripture memory engaging.
I’ve also seen firsthand how useful memorized Scripture becomes in everyday family life—guiding conversations about kindness, self-control, obedience, encouragement, and more. This devotional helps move Scripture beyond memorization into actually living it out together.
Highly recommend for families with kids around age 6+ who want to be more intentional about Scripture memory in their home.
