Christ And His People

Reading this wonderful book has reminded me how many of my priorities have been significantly shaped by his example, from sitting under his feet when he first arrived at the Round Church, and by his teaching. All who read it will be challenged, as I was, to sharpen their focus and raise their standards for the great benefit of the church and the glory of God.

Mark Ashton minded the business God gave him, and I am thankful beyond words that his pastoral wisdom shines forth in the pages of this little book. He, being dead, yet speaks, and we do well to listen.

Mark Ashton was vicar of the Church of the Holy Sepulchure in Cambridge from 1987 until his death in 2010. He writes dearly, simply, but above all biblically, about the priorities for local church life. Don't be put off by the fact that his ministry was in a large student church. The principles he elaborates apply to any church in any context. This book deserves to be read, whether you are a minister or member of a congregation. You
will not come away disappointed.
