"All About the Bible is masterfully constructed to appeal to its intended demographic: KIDS. My busy boys and I love this book! Exciting visuals catch the fancy of easily distracted minds, thoughtfully divided blurbs protect early readers from fatigue, and engaging information retains their attention and keeps them engaged, growing not only their knowledge but also their delight in God's word."
"Children have probing questions about the Bible they may be reluctant to ask. All About the Bible will not only answer many of those but also ones they didn't yet know they have! The attractive graphics and well organized format will keep readers combing through this book for hours as they learn so many important truths about the greatest book ever written. May it motivate them in ways seen and unseen to dig into their Bibles more than ever."
"The Bible is an amazing book. This beautifully illustrated children’s book breathes the thrill and wonder of the Bible on every page. This book is at the same time intriguing, enthusiastic, accurate, and winsome. Alison Mitchell has done us a great service in writing it."
My kids loved the book All About Bible Animals. It is so well loved that it is falling apart!
This new addition to the series is All About the Bible. It touches on all things related to the Bible—geography, Bible translations, Bible characters, the overall story of Scripture, and even fun facts about the Bible.
Like... did you know the Bible is the most stolen book in the world?!
There are Bible verses throughout that show children what the Bible says about itself as the Word of God (Isaiah 40:8).
There is also a timeline showing the whole story of the Bible.
This book is truly a picture book all about the Bible.
While some of the book contains basic Bible knowledge that is helpful for teaching children, I especially loved the addition of fun facts that even I didn't know. The section on unusual Bibles was particularly intriguing. I found it fascinating to learn about the "Wicked Bible," a Bible that was printed with one mistake. It left out the word "not" in one of the Ten Commandments, so instead of saying, "You shall not commit adultery," it said, "You shall commit..."
I also loved that the story of God's Smuggler was included.
There are so many fun and interesting facts about the Bible, along with lots of pictures throughout.
We have used this for our family worship after Dinner over the last month. It is really interesting and easy to read. My 5 year sits on my knee as we read this and look at the pictures. There are lots of facts about the Bible which my 8 year old loves.
There are maps, tables, timelines and it is broken down into small chunks so it is easily read.
Recommend for a young family to read.
All About the Bible proved to be both fun and informative for our whole family. I grabbed this book to go through with my 7 and 9-year-olds. My younger daughter didn't connect as well to the content as my older daughter, but we enjoyed studying together.
She was so excited to share with her dad over dinner, especially challenging him to the quiz at the end of the book.
What I enjoyed about this book is that it wasn't just a list of facts about the Bible. Mixed in with facts and "did you know" were supporting Bible stories and connecting historical events.
I loved the use of timelines, tables, and maps! The book presents the information in various ways, such as paragraphs, short blurbs, and pictures.
This would be great to carry in the car, its easy to pick up and put down--- and makes for great discussion.
I would recommend it for ages 9-12 (but you could easily read it at younger/older ages).
