“Cute, Summer Read About Sharing The Love of Jesus with Friends”
Over the last year, my daughter and I have really enjoyed the Abigail series and this newest release is another great addition. This sweet chapter book takes ten year old Abigail on a summer adventure of growing, learning and maturing in her faith. When the summer starts out a little boring and lonely, Abigail gets better acquainted Maggie, a schoolmate she wants to invite to Bible club, that is, until she learns Maggie isn’t allowed to go.
With adventure, silliness, imagination and play, this book takes Abigail on a journey of following the rules, doing the right thing, and sharing the love and light of Jesus in a creative way, even if it’s not perfect. As a parent, I appreciated how Abigail tried and failed a few times. She makes mistakes and learns from them, but also really tries hard to do what is right. She loves her friend well without compromising her faith and she seeks wisdom from adults and turns to prayer, setting a great example as the main character. I also liked the encouraging and supportive role that the adults in Abigail’s story had.
In my opinion, this chapter book is best suited for third grade readers and above.
Overall, a great read that supports faith building and evangelism in kids. There’s a sweet message of friendship and sharing faith, loving others well and remaining steadfast in doing what is right. This is a series we happily recommend and eagerly look forward to reading together!
* I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher. All thoughts are my own and I was not required to write a positive review.
