Customer Reviews

5.00 stars I have been reading it and it was so interesting

(Review written for 'Diary of a Disciple: Luke's Story (Paperback)')

I love it

1.00 stars Too different from Luke's actual gospel

I found the zany, comic style of writing not suitable as a means of telling children about the Lord Jesus Christ. Are children taught to reverence Jesus with so much joking around about him and his story? In an effort to be funny/quirky, this retelling of the gospel sometimes made disrespectful jokes about Jesus and his disciples. The theology was questionable at times also. I feel this book might entertain children but it risks not making true disciples.

5.00 stars Brilliant!

We bought this book for our six year old daughter and she is loving reading it! The writing style is pitched brilliantly and the stories are retold in ways that make them a really easy read (eg calling Phillip, Phil or Simon the sorcerer, Magic Simon)... The illustrations make the text very engaging. We are currently feeling very blessed by this book!
