2 Samuel is a story of triumph and disaster, both personal and national. It is the account of the rise and fall and rise of a great king, David of Israel. But it is also the story of the God who rules his people, who forgives his people, and who promises to send the King whose greatest fall will bring our eternal rise.

I used this book side by side as I read through 1st Samuel. This guide pointed me to Christ throughout the pages of 1st Samuel. I would recommend to anyone looking for material to point them to Christ in this history book!

This book was so helpful in applying the message of Judges to my life in a fresh way. On initial reading, the book of Judges is difficult to apply and understand. "Judges for you" helped me to see the accounts of the Judges within the context of the themes of the book. Time and again Keller prompted me to consider the idols within my own life as well as to see God's faithfulness, both to the wayward Israelites and to the wayward me. I looked forward to reading both Judges and Keller's commentary in the morning, as knew I would ...be both challenged and comforted from God's word. I recommend this book as a devotional or as an aid to teaching God's word
