This is another wonderful addition to the Do Great Things for God series! My daughters have enjoyed many of the books in this collection, but Elisabeth Elliot quickly became a favorite in our home.
The story introduces young readers to Elisabeth's life as a missionary and beautifully highlights her remarkable example of forgiveness after the death of her husband, Jim Elliot. While written in a way that is appropriate for children, it doesn't shy away from the truth of her ...story and continually points readers back to Christ.
The engaging illustrations and accessible storytelling sparked so much curiosity in my girls that they immediately asked to read the book again and wanted to learn even more about Elisabeth Elliot's life and missionary work. As a homeschool mom, I love when a book inspires that kind of excitement to dig deeper into church history.
I also appreciate the free companion resources available through The Good Book Company, making this an excellent addition to homeschool, family devotions, Sunday school, or church libraries. Highly recommended!

My 11 year old exclaimed, “ooh, yay! I love these books!” when we received this book. :)
This is another wonderful addition to the “Do Great Things for God” series. We enjoy these short picture books as a way to learn about the lives of faithful Christians.
This series always has beautiful illustrations and this one is no exception. They ...take a story and make it accessible for children with an emphasis on how God works in their lives. Each book includes a real life photo and timeline of the person which is ever so helpful. This book also includes questions at the end and additional free resources for interacting with the person’s story. The homeschool mom in me loves these mini lessons! We really enjoyed the addition of the map pages at the end of this story as well.
Elisabeth Elliot is such an inspiration and lovely role model for Christian women and girls. Her faith and trust in God was big enough to go back and continued to share the love of Christ with the very people who killed his husband. If that’s not a goose-bump inducing gospel story, I don’t know what is. I’m grateful for the hard working people that produce these books so that I can teach my children about such amazing people.
I received a complimentary copy as a reviewer and all opinions shared are my own.

This book tells the story of Elisabeth’s life from childhood, including how her husband Jim Elliot was killed when ...they were working as missionaries in Ecuador. Her story is one of deep faithfulness and trust in God as she returned to the tribe that had killed her husband in order to share the gospel with them. My girls were amazed at her forgiveness. This is a deeply impactful story and a great example to our children of trusting in God even when tragedy strikes.
“Just like when Jesus came to earth and lived with people, Elisabeth and Val lived among the Wao. They showed them that they forgave them for killing Jim. They showed them that they trusted God and knew he was always with them, even in scary situations.”
Highly recommend getting a copy of this book! What an inspiring story!
Thank you to @thegoodbookcompanyusa for sending me a copy of these wonderful books in exchange for my honest review!
