Introduce kids 3+ to God’s good design for us to work together and help each other. Whether they’re shy, sociable, timid or convinced they can “do it themselves,” children will discover that we are wonderfully made to need one another.
Beloved Bible teacher Jen Wilkin uses memorable rhymes and delightful storytelling to show kids that it’s wonderful when we live, work and play as a team.
Marvelling at Rommel Ruiz’s vibrant illustrations as they listen to the story, kids will see that…
Starting with the story from Genesis 2 of Adam naming pairs of animals and then God creating Eve, this book lays a foundation for kids to discover…
“From these two came four and more,
Helpers, siblings, friends galore
Boys and girls all made to be
Partners in God’s family.”
With childlike simplicity and deep theological insight, Jen Wilkin shows kids that God has given us a gift in giving us each other.

This is the most beautiful story with some of the most eyepopping art. When you add in the poetry, the biblical insights, and the message that is being taught, it is a priceless story!
Made Like Me draws the little ones in with the story of creation like never told before, but also with the focal point of the creation of man, and then mankind. The unity of mankind with one another and the blessing of walking beside others in ...this life. It brings us back to a more important truth, of our roots all tracing back to this point in time and the unity there is in that. But also the intention and plan God put in place by creating more than one, and making us able to continue to create and have more people surrounding us, made like us, in God's image, made for us. We are never alone.
I received a complimentary copy. This review reflects my honest opinion.

Review of advanced copy received from publisher.
I have enjoyed Jen Wilkin’s books earlier for the multi layered depth, clarity and dependence on Bible. So it was with great expectation, we read her debut children’s book. And it is well written- the rhyme, the imagery from Genesis 2 when Adam is all alone in the garden of Eden waiting for his ‘perfect’ helper and made incharge of naming all the animals, birds, fish, bugs etc. There is a helpful note from Jen at the beginning on the premise of the book and she clarifies some of the artistic liberties she ...has used in retelling the story. The illustrations are vivid and captures the attention of kids and grown ups alike. Though targeted at kids 3 years upwards, slightly older kids aged 5 upwards would benefit more as the language and ideas are not so straightforward. We could discuss what it means to be lonely and how God provides the best help like how He provided Eve for Adam. The story is helpful to also talk about being image bearer of God and how God created family.
Thank you to the Good Book Company for the advanced copy of the book. I received a complimentary copy as a reviewer, and all opinions shared are my own.

Lovely book. This is a beautiful rhyming of Genesis 2, with fantastic drawing to go alongside about how God made Eve as a life partner for Adam. At the beginning of the story Jen Wilkin shares the reason behind the book based on Genesis 2 v 19-20. I would probably gaged this book at about 6years+, especially just for the little ones to get their head round, but one you would read multiple times.
