I can't keep up with my daughter's reading so I love knowing that if I get her the next Abigail book I can trust what she's reading. Abigail is very relatable to her. She loves being able to see another girl around her age navigate tricky situations and conflicting emotions, seeking to follow Jesus in all of it. I pray that the biblical messages shared in these books are buried in her heart with each book and will come to mind when she encounters problems at school.
This particular book about summer was also a great theme as my daughter started summer off! She loves when the books she is reading is connecting to her own time of life as well!
Keep up the great work with this series! We will be looking forward to the next one!
If you’re a girl mom, I can’t recommend Abigail and the Summer Situation by Bethany McIlrath enough!
We’ve been longtime fans of Abigail, but the fifth book in the series has officially become our favorite. My girls were always asking for “just one more chapter,” and I loved how relatable the story was.
More than that, I loved the biblical truths woven throughout the story. Through Abigail, my girls were reminded that God doesn’t ask us to be perfect. Even when we mess up, get angry, or face hard situations, we can still love others and be a light for Christ.
The backyard Bible Club was another favorite! Watching the kids learn God’s Word, work together, and have fun made me want to start one in our own neighborhood.
Recommended for ages 7+, this is a wonderful Christian chapter book for girls and one our family can’t stop recommending. We’re already counting down the days until Book 6!
