Kids will see how good questions can lead to a close relationship with Christ as they discover the true story of C.S. Lewis. His love of learning, stories and Jesus led him to create Narnia and write many other beloved books.
C.S. Lewis was curious and creative from his earliest days, and this biography walks kids through both fun and formative questions he asked and where they led him.
Through engaging storytelling and delightful illustrations, kids will learn about Lewis' famous stories and his friendship with J.R.R. Tolkien, as well as the suffering he faced when loved ones died and when he was injured in World War I. Most importantly, ...kids will hear how C.S. Lewis came to answer questions like “Why does God let bad things happen?” and “Is God even real?”
This book is part of the Do Great Things for God series, designed to show kids how God uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things. Download free extras such as worksheets to help children interact with the true story and think of ways in which they can also follow God and encourage his people today.
This series can be read to young children or enjoyed independently by early readers. The free extras make these stories useful for Sunday school, missions events and more.
This is another wonderful addition to the “Do Great Things for God” series. We enjoy these short picture books as a way to learn about the lives of faithful Christians.
This series always has beautiful illustrations and this one is no exception. My son liked how the picture of the men at Oxford looked like they were stickers. This series does an amazing job at taking a story and making it accessible for children with an emphasis on how God ...works in their lives. Each book includes a real life photo and timeline of the person which is ever so helpful. This book also includes questions at the end and additional free resources for interacting with the person’s story. The homeschool mom in me loves these mini lessons!
This story was delightful for my children to learn more about the author of one of their favorite book series. They laughed at the start of the book with the boy insisting on having the same name as his dog. The story resonated with my children, especially my son, who also has lots of questions! I hope it inspires him to be like CS Lewis and use his inquisitive mind to seek the Lord and to share the gospel with others.
My kids are young enough to not really grasp who C.S. Lewis is yet, though they have seen the Chronicles of Narnia movie. This is a great introduction and connection point for them to see how authors of books and movies are real people and they often write allegories to their faith.
This series is a favorite for my kids because it brings to life history and the world and how real people lived real lives of faith. C.S. Lewis's ...story doesn't have the same hardship as some of the others in the series, but its a good intro to a great author that I hope continues to be a favorite for them.
Another great book in the "Do Great Things for God" series. I'm really excited to see some men of faith being added to this series. We absolutely love Narnia, therefore this book was an instant hit! The illustrations are lovely and so was the storytelling. I think asking an abundance of questions is something kids can relate to and I like that Jack's story is told from this angle. You'll definitely want to add this delightful book to your home library!
"And though life didn't get much easier, Jack knew he could always count on that same fearless love as ...described in the Bible, because, in that perfect book, Jack had found the answers to all his questions."
