There are many views on how to obtain blessing in life. Some seek it from God through working hard for Him, making sacrifices to Him. Others seek it apart from Him, through money or career or something else.
In these verses, Peter explains definitively how it is done!
2 Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. 3 His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 4 Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. 2 Peter 1 v 2-4
This doesn’t mean that we become part of God, but that we inherit His holy character, becoming like Him. We no longer have to put up with corrupt behaviour (v 4) because we have new desires.
