Reading this wonderful book has reminded me how many of my priorities have been significantly shaped by his example, from sitting under his feet when he first arrived at the Round Church, and by his teaching. All who read it will be challenged, as I was, to sharpen their focus and raise their standards for the great benefit of the church and the glory of God.
Mark Ashton minded the business God gave him, and I am thankful beyond words that his pastoral wisdom shines forth in the pages of this little book. He, being dead, yet speaks, and we do well to listen.
I would want every pastor as trainee pastor to read this book, as then for all elders and indeed his whole congregation to read it and hold their pastor to these priorities. In short, it is a must buy. Must read as must put into practice book. Thank you Christian Focus for republishing it, and thank you Mark.
