How can we learn about God and his ways? In Exodus 1-20 we meet the true and living God who makes and keeps promises; who judges, saves and triumphs; who provides for his people and teaches them in his holy ways.
A set of eight simple studies that cover the early and momentous chapters of Exodus. It gives us a clear picture of God’s character and how we should respond.
Leader’s notes are included.

About Pathway Bible Guides
Getting to Know God is part of this new series of Pathway Bible Guides. They aim to provide simple, straightforward Bible study material for:
Accordingly, the studies are designed to be short, straightforward and easy to use, with an uncomplicated vocabulary. At the same time, the writers have tried to do justice to the passages being studied and to model good Bible-reading principles. They have tried to be simple without being simplistic; no-nonsense without being no-content.
The questions and answers assume a small group context but can easily be adapted to suit different situations, such as individual study and one to one.
Brilliant for small groups with time constraints - the questions are short, direct, and easy to understand for people who use English as a second language. Very helpful for relatively young Christians as well.
I have used this study guide several times with new Christians or with women who have completed Christianity Explored and are still seeking. It is an excellent study for discovering what God is like. Each week, after reading part of the Exodus story, the group have to pick one characteristic of God that they have learnt. With Christians, we also looked at how this characteristic is revealed in Jesus.
I have found that people often have a very simplistic view of God and so find these studies challenging and thought provoking.
it help to understand more about god. people with more questions and seek the answers to
This study could go a whole lot deeper. The questions are quite simple so our study group has taken to using their basic topic and one or two questions per topic and studying the rest of the passage in more detail and also USING OTHER REFERENCES which for some reason this book makes no effort to.
We used this in our Beta group (for new Christians or people still-seeking, all Alpha 'graduates') after enjoying two other Pathway Bible study guides. However, this wasn't as impressive. We were looking forward to introducing the Old Testament to our group members, but most people did not find the studies particularly helpful. The questions were simplistic, and it was hard to spark a stimulating discussion which the group felt was relevant to them. We both love the OT so we were enthusiastic about promoting the series, but by the end, I think we were as glad as the group that it was finished. It's not a BAD study guide, but I think there needs to be more work on the questions so that people (esp those new to Christianity) can better understand and appreciate the relevance of the OT.
