Description

I am delighted to commend this book for laymen by a layman because it takes the Bible seriously. It takes the stand that what the Bible says about God is true and it dares to believe that scripture is relevant and real to modern sophisticates whose main problem is in scornfully rejecting a book which they have never read nor seriously explored. Mr Staite puts his reasoning clearly and invites, even challenges, his readers to discard their prejudices and assumptions and open their minds to a startling idea- namely that God wants people to know Him and His ways, and that in the Bible He is revealing Himself to them. The excitement of this revelation comes through.

This book makes no pretence to be the last word in academic scholarship, but is well reasoned and reasonable. The passion for the subject does radiate from its pages along with its humanity, so that whether the readers agree or disagree with Mr Staite, they are being called to grow up in their attitude to the Bible.

- Frank Cooke.
