A Sneaking Suspicion is a book about things that matter - things like life, death, relationships, sex, suffering, meaning and God - things that are important but which we don't often talk about.
John Dickson writes:
'For me, what began as a sneaking suspicion has blown into a huge reality. Like most Aussies, I had a hunch there was something more to life than beer and footie. I also had a hunch that the 'something more' could be found by looking into Jesus. When I decided to go with my hunch, I discovered more than I ever bargained for.'

John Dickson is the epitomical example of male entitlement. This book he wrote is not only extremely sexist but completely skews ideas about modern Christianity. Under the premise of offering a fresh perspective on religion, Dickson instead writes a shallow description of a world based on heteronormative and misogynistic assumptions about women. He states women are the sole perpetrators of their own oppression, and that it is not the media or men who make women insecure but their own shallow and hyper-critical nature. The fact that this man has the audacity to write a book advising women in itself proves what is an extremely paternalistic and patronising attitude towards women Dickson holds. This book should not be allowed near children because it is truly and thoroughly rubbish.
