Table Talk 12: End to End

Worthwhile purchase
(Review written for 'Table Talk 8: The Real King')
I got this book in the run-up to Easter as it contains relevant passages from Mark, & i needed an antedote to bunnies and chicks and chocolate! We hadn't used Table Talk before and have a 4yr old daughter, preschool yr so can't read yet but I wanted a bit more than Beginning with God which we have used up to now. After doing it a few times she has really quite taken to it & even reminds Daddy when he comes home from work to do it. I like that we are reading out of the actual bible, not just the usual stories that appear in children's bibles. We're now going thru some Psalms which is just great& new for her. I had wondered if it would be a bit beyond her but so glad we gave it a go, plus you don't have to do every single suggestion given. As its not dated we can revisit it again in more depth later on. All in all - worthwhile investment. ![]()
Brilliant Bible time with fun
(Review written for 'Table Talk 1: The Book of Beginnings')
I have always wanted to read the bible as a family but never managed to maintain the children's interest and wondered how much they understood. this book is fantastic as the biblical explanations are excellent. The children and adults get to do activities not just simply read. For example this week my kids have had strips of paper with bible verses and have been trying to put them in order, they have also been acting out scenes. Great fun and a great way of remembering what you have learnt. Even my 13 year old joins in. I would thoroughly recommend it. ![]()
Bring your family togeter
(Review written for 'Table Talk Subscription')
Our 7 year old loves it "because we can read the bible together and learn new things live how to love God" Our 10 year old enjoys finding the bible passages and reading aloud. It really brings us together as a family. User friendly with great talking points, I would really recommend this to any family, especially those not used to reading the bible together. ![]()
Family fun at breakfast

Fantastic, loved by all of us and great for breakfast time ![]()
excellent resource for family devotions
(Review written for 'Table Talk 3: Comings and Goings')
This works well for us (Mum, Dad, 11 yr old boy and 8 yr old boy) - we use it after our main meal of the day. I say 'it works well' - the boys aren't always enthusiastic to read the Bible, but 'this is what we do as a family', and it takes less than 10 mins! We sometimes do the activities at the start, but sometimes simply adapt them into a discussion. The Bible study is good - makes us all think about the reading. And it is good to apply that to our lives too. We then have our prayer time at the end. Although this is book 3, we've actually used 7 other 'Table Talk' over the passed few years, and it is by far the best resource we've found for our family devotions. ![]()
Great for small Kids Church
(Review written for 'Table Talk 1: The Book of Beginnings')
I've looked at lots of resources for teaching our small Kids Church. We have found Table Talk enabled us to put together great lessons that are theologically sound, and often more in depth then many other resources. We combine 2 studies most weeks, our primary school age break off and look further at the lessons using the XTB studies while we do a related craft with the infants. ![]()
Just what we were looking for
(Review written for 'Table Talk Subscription')
We have three children (5, 2 and 5 months). Table Talk is just what we were looking for to start out family bible readings. The studies are faithful to the bible, but can be made short enough for a 5 year old attention span. The 2 year old and 5 month old aren't getting much out yet! ![]()
wonderful for families!
(Review written for 'Table Talk Subscription (children aged 4 up) (Foreign)')
Our family is new to this series, but we are all benefiting from it! We have a 6.5yr old and a 4yr old who participate well when we spend this special time together. The 6.5yr old definitely gets more out of it than the 4yr old, but it's still interesting for her. We definitely recommend it! ![]()
Very helpful
(Review written for 'Table Talk 7: Heroes & Zeros')
My wife and I find table talk provides good ideas and a very helpful way of teaching the bible to our 5 and 6 year olds. There are good suggestions as to activities or discussion topics to get them started and good questions to guide us through the passage. It is excellent value! ![]()
A great resource for families
(Review written for 'Table Talk Subscription')
We have recently graduated onto Table Talk after 6 years with toddler-aimed daily readings and we have been thrilled by the response of our primary-aged children. We never imagined that we could have a proper bible study round the breakfast table which stretches our 10 year old while also engaging the 6 year old and being quick enough to get to school on time. This is a tremendous blessing to Christian families. ![]()
