Description

Unit 12 for 5-7s looks at the subject of 'Splendour to captivity' (from 1 & 2 Kings)

The child's component for this unit is a game board. In the first nine sessions the children will receive a picture to cut out and paste onto their game board. The game board is used as a means of reviewing facts and concepts that the children have learned during the unit. The leader may choose to prepare the sample of the children's game board for the children to refer to throughout the unit.

This child's component accompanies the Click Unit 12: 5-7s Leaders Manual. There is also a Leader's Pack available.

CLICK is a Bible-based programme for teaching and discipling children from 3-11 years. The CLICK curriculum is based on the belief that the Bible’s own theological framework should direct what is taught and how it is taught. CLICK is Bible-based, teaching the major events, concepts and doctrines of the Bible. It’s also great fun!

“too complicated for 5-7s”

We have been using Click for the past few years and think it is absolutely wonderful, definately the best and most biblical resources around at the moment. We decided to do Unit 12 this term but have found it way too complicated for the group. We teach 5-11s and even some of the older ones have found it difficult to grasp. The teaching style is very similar each session and covers a couple of chapters each lesson which means there is lots of adult talk. It is great to see such an 'unknown' part of the bible accessible for kids but this module could have been delivered in a clearer way. I agreee with Joyce that a timeline or lineage would have helped illustrate where each of the Kings fit in.
