Sex is not the problem (lust is)
Description
Joshua Harris calls a generation bombarded with images of sexual sin back to the freedom and joy of holiness. This 'PG-rated' book — straightforward without being graphic — speaks to those entrenched in lust or just flirting with temptation. Honestly sharing his own struggles, Harris exposes lust's tactics and helps readers create a personal plan for fighting back. Men and women will find hope in God's grace and learn the secrets to lasting change.
Other information
'This book is a practical call to personal holiness Josh deals boldly with the strongest attacks on young men and women today.'- Chris Tomlin, worship artist and song writer
'The main issue with lust is that it hinders us from seeing and savoring the glory of Christ. That hurts us and dishonors Him. So, for your joy and Christ's honor, I commend this book to you. It is realistic, practical, and hope-giving because of uncompromising grace. The pure in heart will see God. If you want that sight, let Josh Harris help you fight.'
- John Piper, pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Minneapolis
'Unlike so many books that share a shelf with this one at the local Christian bookstore, Harris holds out lust as a problem, but provides the gospel as a solution. And that isn’t even a fair fight. An excellent little book that is easy to read, easy to digest, and suitable for all audiences.'

A thought-provoking book that I would recommend
The examples, and honest accounts in this book make it interesting and useful reading. It explains what lust is, and what it is not. This is useful as you might not actually be lusting in certain situations where you think you are, but equally you might be lusting without realising it. The only reason I have not given this a higher score is because of the cost. £8 is quite expensive as it is a short book. ![]()
Extremely helpful and refreshingly real.
This book is excellent. It is written for people (like me) who find this area a constant struggle and recurrent source of shame as a Christian. The definition of lust as distinct form sex was a revelation to me.
I was encouraged by the author's own honesty and vulnerability and encouraged not to view myself as defeated. The book is based on solid Gospel teaching and has given me hope and some practical tools to conquer lust. ![]()
