The 9:38 Apprentice Conference is designed to be a resource to encourage and equip apprentices for current and future ministry and to build up a peer group of like-minded gospel workers.
The topic of the conference this year is The Christian Leader, looking at the importance of character and skills for gospel ministry, and particularly, for mission. The main teaching will be from Richard Coekin (senior minister of the Co-Mission Initiative, London). He will be joined by other leaders involved in full-time gospel ministry from around the country. This will be valuable preparation for the A Passion for Life mission.
In addition to this in-depth Bible teaching, those attending will be asked to prepare and deliver a short talk to a small group who will give constructive feedback. These can be aimed at adults/students or children – please tick the relevant box upon registering. Though this might sound overwhelming at a busy time of year, this aspect of the conference is most regularly quoted as being the most useful. The groups aim to sharpen each other’s Bible handling and teaching skills.
There will also be plenty of opportunities to chat with experienced gospel workers to gain from their wisdom and experience, and a chance to ask any questions on a Bible or more general ministry topic.
