Strange interpretation
I found this book too American in its dealing with the subject of Esther - lots of quotes from author's children and stories about them, or about American life styles. I did not agree with his basic thesis that Esther and Mordecai no longer had faith in God because there is no evidence that they were practising Jews and neither prayer nor God are specifically mentioned. I think his argument that Haman's enmity of Mordecai and all Jews stemmed from his tribal identity at the time of Saul and David rather far-fetched. ![]()
