Contentment: Healing the hunger of our hearts
Description
The constant hunger for something more may seem like the aches and pains of growing old — something that we must just put up with in this far-from-perfect world. But the Bible shows that discontent is the symptom of a lethal disease that will kill us if we do not find a cure. It was discontent that first led humans into rebellion against God, with the catastrophic consequences that have followed from that decision.
Yet Jesus Christ promises that anyone who believes in Him will never again hunger or thirst. The apostle Paul was able to say that he had learned the secret of being content in any and every situation — in need or in plenty. Discontent is a problem of our hearts not our circumstances. This Good Book Guide can help us to understand why we become discontented, how Jesus Christ alone can help us, and on a practical level, how Christian living can bring the treasure of contentment to our daily lives.

Definitely recommend
We studied this book as a group of women who were mostly mums at home. It was so helpful in it's relevance and direct challenge to a lot of things we face in our lives. I loved the amount of Biblical content, and that it worked so hard to apply what we were learning. We found that a lot of times there was too much to pack into our time, but if we had the luxury of more time we would have loved to cover the material with more thorough discussion. I think the first few and last few studies were brilliant and a couple in the middle we found a little harder work, but they were still very helpful. I really recommend it all around. ![]()
Relevant, accessible and thought provoking
We have only studied the first one so far in our group of 7. Everybody contributed to the discussion, finding it remarkably contemporary. Leader's notes at the book were excellent. Some questions were a little obvious, so were omitted, but otherwise it was well received and we look forward to the next session. ![]()
