i've got 6 & 8 year old girls and these xtb notes have been really great, engaging and interesting. my wife or i work through these with the kids just before bed time and we are still learning stuff! my only complaint we were buying them when they were available in a random order form our local christian book shop assuming they were producing them every so often, but it turns out there are only a fixed number, hence we bought a set from the good book company.

I can't recommend these highly enough. My 8yr old son (not by nature very keen on anything involving pencil and paper) absolutely loves them and is really upset if we miss a day! They are brilliantly thought out and presented, faithfully explaining Biblical truth in a way that communicates clearly with this age-group. I have also found them helpful when preparing to teach in our Junior Church.

My 6 year old just loves these notes and can't wait until bedtime to do them. They are really well balanced between teaching good content and giving fun puzzles and codes to keep the child interested. I highly recommend them. Just note, there are not proper reading notes for three months, but two with abbreviated notes for the third month, the assumption seems to be that children will miss a third of the readings!

I brought it for my 7 year old daughter. The daily readings and activities are set at the right level to help her explore the christian faith. She is keen to do the readings/activities every day and likes the footprint note pad provided with this issue.

I find the interactive teaching very good because my kids are listening more actively in order to answer the questions in XTB. Very age appropriate, yet scriptural. Great!

My 8 year old son really enjoys this. He says its helping him know his bible better and its good fun.

i was not sure if two of our four children (aged 7 and 6) would engage with this book as they tend not to concentrate. I was surprised that they loved doing the exercises which often involves filling in the blank spaces or solving the codes. they now look forward to doing it each night, and helps them to understand the BIble. I highly recommend it. Here are the comments from my children:
Samuel: I loved the code breakers and also the word solving.
Naomi: i like reading the verses.

I have used XTB with my 3 children when they have been around 6 and 7. The books are written so that children can understand them and are laid out in an appealing way with engaging looking puzzles, codes, mazes etc. The amount of bible to read is manageable, usually a few verses, and yet the material doesnt skimp on the weight of the message behind it. I dont quite know how the writer has managed to come up with such a great format. All the explanation is set out, so you learn too. It's great! Thank you.

It has been hard to find good quality Bible notes for children as a lot are very 'lightweight' these days. XTB combines attractive presentation with good solid Bible teaching. They don't include verses written out but encourage children to find and read passages for themselves - hooray! They also work very well with Table Talk. Fantastic!

My son really enjoys his XTB study every night, it's a good balance of puzzles, games and scripture readings, although I would think that most kids will require a fair degree of parental involvement in carrying out each study as some of the passages are long. I do note that it is geared for 7- 10 yr olds and our little cherub has just turned 7. The stickers are a nice touch also.

My 7 year old and I have been enjoying exploring the Bible together each evening. His reading skills are still needing support from an adult: for this younger age it is probably more relevant to do the activities together. We have had some good discussions leading on from the evenings readings. The repetition and bite sized chunks as well as the various activities make it a must read before bedtime!

This study has proved to be a great success with my kids, not only has it given us a great opportunity to share in study together, but recently my 10 year old asked the Lord to be King of His life after one of our XTB sessions! Praise God! I have also learnt a great deal. The kids never want to miss a days study. Brilliant! Thank you

have started to use table talk with our daughters and find them very helpful.
These are not just illustrative stories teaching a biblical truth, rather the notes take the passage and teach the truths that come from it, with variety and freshness.
As parents, especially fathers, we have a responsibility to teach our children the bible and these notes are an excellent resource which help us to do that.

My children aged 4 and 7 absolutely love doing XTB every night. We also enjoy it!! Very sound snd thought provokin.

My daughter (aged 6) loves these and is highly motivated to do Bible study using them. We spend about ten minutes on them and love every minute of it. Her understanding (and ours!) of basic Bible truths has grown tremendously.

Child friendly teaching that gets kids looking at the Bible and learning through fun activities. Good length to get into the habit of reading the Bible every day with appropriate application of the text.

Really good lessons for introducing children to independent daily Bible study. The lessons look fun help to explain the reading. There's often a practical lesson taught too, which gives the reader something to think about.

What better way to end a day with your child than reading a story together, having a chat about what we've read and ending with a prayer. The puzzles included in each day's readings grab my son's attention and the bible readings focus our minds on God. We both get a lot out of this daily exercise. It's not dated so we can miss the occasional night and not lose out.
