XTB: Easter Unscrambled
|

Used this for our 5 year old having done book 4 previously. She loved it, and got upset if it was too late for Bible study. She obviously needed help with many of the puzzles but was able to follow the story and message being delivered

We did this at breakfast time over the Easter holidays, it didn't quite tie in with Good Friday and Easter Sunday but was still a very good way of explaining Easter to my 7 and 5 year old, my 2 year old found it short enough to sit through without causing too much fuss. Even got the Grandparents involved whom we were visiting for part of it.

I worked through this booklet with 2 of my daughters (age 5 and 7) in the run up to Easter this year. We had great fun looking through it and the studies were just about the right length, level etc. The combination of the 'table talk' material at the back and the studies at the front worked really well. The ABCD to following Jesus was really good and we looked at that several times on the way through.
My only criticism and it's a bit pathetic really is that the shiny paper is almost impossible to write on - much frustration was had trying to find a biro that would work on the shiny paper!

My 9 year old love the Xplore books and enjoyed completing this one on his own.
He happily opens his bible in the evenings and reads it with Easter Unscrambled and even attempted to do a more than one study a night!

I offered Easter Unscrambled to our after school yr 3-6 group. The take up was high as a boy within the group had given his testimony and mentioned how helpful he found the XTB notes in 'going on with Jesus'.

We are all really enjoying looking at this after meal times. Our 3 daughters ask to read it and thankfully there are usually 3 sections for each day - so not too many squabbles! A good way of thinking about the real meaning of Easter.

Worth every penny- all of the family have really enjoyed reading the table talk section together over breakfast, and then we do the XTB section at bedtime with my 8 year old. Our girls aged 4+8 have been keen each day to remind us to get the Easter book out. It's made all of us focus on the real meaning of Easter, more than ever before, especially the grown-ups!

This is a great way to keep my 9 year old daughter occupied during sermons at church, whilst still providing her with a Biblical focus. She enjoys the colourful and up to date approach to Bible stories and finds the activities fun and challenging. We have also started using another book from the range for a family prayer and Bible reading time each evening.
