In a vaguely Christianised culture like ours it is all too easy to assume that our acceptance or rejection (or perhaps simply avoidance) of the Christian faith is based on a reasonable working knowledge of the topic.

John Dickson writes, 'I for one grew up supposing that the few bits and pieces I'd accidentally picked up at school, through friends and in the media were enough to arrive at the opinion that Christianity was nice for other people. I decided this without once having gone inside a church or read anything of the Bible, let alone attended a course such as this one.'

This course is written on the belief that it is just possible, based on this author's
experience at least, that the version of Christianity some of us have accepted, rejected or avoided, is not the 'real thing' after all, but an imperfect substitute. The goal of this course, then, is to provide you with a clear, albeit brief, explanation of 'real or normal' Christianity.

Overall excellent production and useable
Review by Peter Davies | 07.05.2008

It would be reallly helpful if there could be bracketed page numbers in the leaders manual that relate to the students manual, so that it is easy to refer to extra information and text, as we jump backwards and forwards. I know I could have done it myself, but as I seem to end up using different leaders manuals for various reasons it would make my life very easy!

Simply Christianity is an excellent course!
Review by Alastair MacDonald | 19.02.2008

I have been looking for a simple course to help people read through one of the gospels. Simply Christianity does this very effectively. It encourages people to read the whole of Luke's gospel and highlights the key points. Helping people to focus on Jesus and understand what he has done for us. I happily recommend this course.

This is a very biblical, flexible and useful evangelistic course
Review by John Hindley | 13.04.2007

We wanted to run a different course to Christianity Explored as an opportunity to invite people along who had been on that and learnt lots, but not repented and believe in the Lord Jesus. Simply Christianity was so good, we have run it several times since.

At five weeks it appeals to some who are put off by the length of Christianity Explored, and as we work with among students as one of the groups we are trying to reach it fis into the shorter terms. The book is excellent as it includes Luke's gospel as well as other material peope on the course need. It is well written and presented.

The strength of the course is that you spend your time in Luke's gospel, and so you see Jesus as he truly is. The outlines for the session are well-written and easy to use without being overly prescriptive on style. You could use this course just as easily with a friend over a coffee or in a group setting.

This is a great aid to evangelism - using th Word of God in the context of freindship and discussion. I have no negative comments to make!
