A revolutionary look at sharing Christ with unbelievers by using the probing, provocative, and penetrating method Jesus used to engage others in personal dialogue and caring interaction.

This is a great book on evangelism in today's postmodern culture. Randy Newman has much experience in evangelism and has spent years wrestling with the Bible. He is well-read in philosophy, apologetics, and biblical theology, but makes it all very accessible. Those of us eager to witness to other people, but unsure of how to do it, will find answers to how to address issues such as homosexuality, adultery, idolatry, abortion and other combustible issues.

QUESTIONING EVANGELISM points out that using a question, instead of an answer, to a question, follows the teachings of Jesus. By questioning someone's question, we can then open a dialog that is neither threatening nor invasive.

Newman addresses questions such as:
* Why are Christians so intolerant?
* Why does a good God allow evil and suffering?
* Why should anyone worship a God who allowed 9/11?
* Why should we believe an ancient book written by dead Jewish males?
* If Jesus is so great, why are some of his followers such jerks?

Randy Newman has worked with Campus Crusade for more than twenty years, teaching seminars at a variety of locations from college campuses to the Pentagon.

This was a good read and really gave some good ideas for those tricky questions during evangelism, but I wouldn't just read this book. You need to read others as well.

This is an enjoyable book, full of practical advice on how to approach evangelism in a way that doesn't slam all the doors shut in your face.

Easy to read, and easy to put to work.

Very good and also encouraging to hear how using 'questioning' evangelism is working in the world today

Evangelism at its best
Review by Dr Thaddeus Irvine | 11.05.2007

This is a great book for reaching our to others. It uses the style Jesus would have used. He asked questions. So should we. It challenges the perception that we must have a 'package' that we need to deliver. It teaches how to listen.

Great!!

If you only read 1 book on how to do evangelism, choose this one!

This is by far the best book I have read on how to do evangelism. Randy Newman looks at how Jesus answers people's questions with a question. This book is not a manual which you memorise to answer people's questions but one that will get you thinking about how you engage with seekers. It will help you think, who is talking more, me or them? It will make you ask am I really listening to them and where they or coming from or am I forming my next arguement? It will help you to develop your communication skills too. The highlight for me was learning to ask the right question. The seeker feels like you are interested in them and you're not just interested in imparting your point of view, and they are more likley to go away and consider biblical truths and come back and ask you more questions. A must have for any Christian who wants to develop his skills in sharing his faith.
