Preaching Mark, the first in the new Prepared to Preach series, is designed to equip them to preach God's word faithfully and clearly. We want to partner them in growing strong, vibrant churches which are nourished by God's truth.
How is it different?
- It helps the preacher not only to understand the text, but to think through how to teach and apply its main lessons, in context.
- It follows careful grammar and vocabulary rules for maximum clarity.
Why should you buy it?
- For yourself!
Although designed for the developing world, this guide will provide many preachers and Bible teachers with brief talk outlines which get straight to the heart of the passage.

'This book is a reliable guide for pastors, sunday school teachers and house group leaders on the emphases of Mark's Gospel: Who Jesus is and Why He came. It is faithful to the intention of the Biblical author and is written in easily understandable English with down-to-earth applications, leaving ample opportunity for adaptation within the local situation. May the Lord be pleased to use this material to change many lives.'

Good in the right setting
Review by Aaron Poppleton | 02.07.2007
This book is clear, well laid out/presented, good value and very easy to use. It includes a very good outline (downloadable) on how to plan a talk on Mark, which I have adapted for planning a bible study. The english is simple and easy to understand - Good if english is not a first language. We decided not to use the book in the end as we were looking for materials to aid planning of bible studies. The book is great for the main points of a passage, as well as showing some other points from the passage. However we felt we wanted more depth & investigation of the set passages. Hence, I would very much recommend this book to someone writing a talk in their mother tongue (with limited english skills) or for someone writing a talk for a younger audience and wanting to get across the main point in a simple and clear manner - word pictures all the way!!! However for personal/group study or writing a sermon where english is a first language, I would encourage people to look at additional material e.g. the two Good Book company study guides on Mark (v good), or a concordance such as the Mark one from the Bible speaks today (BST) series (IVP).
Accessible, relevant, clear and concise.

I bought the book for two reasons. One because I was part of a team visiting Kenya with AICMAR for the Annual School of Preaching Conferences last year.Secondly because our Sermon series in church was Marks' Gospel.
It is totally relevant to the situation in Kenya that I experienced and will meet the need for enabling pastors and preachers 'to correctly explain the word of truth.'It is also a resource for those in UK, maybe new to preaching and concerned to see the main points in a Bible passage. How to prepare a talk is a good revision for those with more experience too.I will be taking copies to Kenya this year!
