I have used this DVD with a group of ladies on the fringe of our church. For me it has been invaluable. The talks are perfect in content, length and presentation. Barry Cooper is extremely engaging and easy to listen to (easy on the eye too - was the comment from one lady!) His life application style analysis of the passages were the perfect springboard for discussion. I would recommend this DVD to all.

We have several groups using this material and all are very pleased. The videos, are short, but pointed, leaving plenty of time in our groups for discussion. They still to the point of the scripture passage in front of us, and that to is appreciated. We would look forward to other book studies after we finish this studyon Philippians.

Great resource to use for Christians, and even for those thinking through Christianity. Explored Philippians in a wonderful way, clearly and vividly, in ways which certainly impacted my life, and others too.

We used this in our mid-week meeting with mainly mature Christians as a pilot study. Very much positive feedback, and it encouraged Bible Study and participation. Only negative point was, as already mentioned in an earlier review, that Barry could have done with more warmth and a smile (especially when talking about joy!).

We have just completed the Discipleship Explored course as a church. We even had to start a new Fellowship Group for people who don't normally attend one. There have been no negative comments at all - surely a first! - and everyone wants to know what we are going to do next.

I purchased this Study guide to run a group from my home, and going through it with my husband first we both thought it was excellent teaching material, we are looking forward to sharing this with many others a the next step after Christianity explored.

The Discipleship Explored DVD is a welcome addition to a course that is fairly established. Following an imaginative pattern to that of Rico Tice's Christianity Explored DVD episodes, it is good to see Barry Cooper featuring in different locations as he unpacks the key points of Paul's letter to the Philippians.

The script is well written and will stimulate good questions from most participants. Barry Cooper is a good presenter but perhaps too serious and should smile a little more - having sais this it is still an excellent resource which I am happy to recommend.

We used the DVDs at a mid-week church event, with a large group watching it together following a meal, praise/singing, and a short talk on a theme related to either Philippians (which D.Explored is based on) or discipleship more generally.

Following the DVD we broke into smaller discussion groups using the study guide. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive. The quality of content, presentation and visuals is first-rate. The themes are biblical, clearly and engagingly presented, pressing without being harsh or judgmental. Each week concentrates on our relationship to Christ in some aspect. And a bargain price.

This is an outstanding eight part DVD, in which Barry Cooper and the ‘Christianity Explored’ team clearly and concisely present the key themes in the Epistle to the Philippians. The interesting and apposite locations used to shoot the DVD add impact to the presentations, which are challenging and demonstrate the centrality of Christ in living out the Gospel in today’s world. In addition to its intended use as support for ‘Discipleship Explored’ the DVD is also suitable for small-group Bible studies into this exciting and relevant part of Scripture.

Very easy to watch, each episode a good length. Thought provoking and useful for discussion.

This is quite simply the best DVD resource for Christians at any level that I have ever come across. We are currently using it in our house group and everyone is finding it very challenging but immensely helpful too. I believe any house or study group would be richly blessed to use it. It's superb!

I bought this DVD for use in my school's Christian Union meetings, and it has been spot-on in providing a clear message, presented in an attractive and accessible manner, suitable for both Christians and seekers. It has fuelled discussion, and in conjunction with the leader's booklet, we have held some stimulating meetings where everyone has left with food for thought, whatever their status of belief. I definitely recommend this DVD!

We have used the DE material with groups a number of times, and the DVD enhances the course & gives a sharper focus.The passage is read aloud first on the DVD, with text, then Barry Cooper gives a short talk (about 10mins) on location, in the style of the Christianity Explored DVD.This is followed by studying the passage in the group, with the use of the questions from the study guide. The talks on the DVD are clear, concise, engaging, and jargon-free, making them ideal for new Christians unfamiliar with the Bible. Well-applied, relevant & hard-hitting. Excellent resource.

The DVD was well made and down to earth.
