CLICK is a Bible-based programme for teaching and discipling children from 3-11 years. The CLICK curriculum is based on the belief that the Bible's own theological framework should direct what is taught and how it is taught. CLICK is Bible-based, teaching the major events, concepts and doctrines of the Bible. It's also great fun!

    Each comprehensive Leader's Manual includes:

  • ten Bible teaching sessions
  • engaging and purposeful activities, games and crafts
  • music suggestions
  • extension ideas for more able children
  • photocopiable masters for visual aids and activities

This manual is designed to be used with the specific child's component and posters for this unit.

CLICK is based on the kids@church programme from CEP Australia. The material has been revised, expanded and redesigned for use in the UK.

Unit 9 review
Review by Esther Hubbard | 07.04.2008

THis is the second unit we have used. We have just started it, and so far it is brilliant. The children are excited about the goal of producing an exhibition. We like the theme, and each session is very well planned with a variety of activities to keep it interesting. We like the Bible-based content, with the aims of developing the children's understanding of the 'big picture'. This theme'Heroes of Faith' is great - just what children need to be given nowadays. The resource materials are very good, and it is very helpful to have it all planned and organised for you.

disappointed with just 8 picture cards!

Usually we're delighted with the material for all sorts of reasons - in fact we just asked the church to EXTEND our time with the children as there's so much packed in each week. THEN...just after we get more time, we buy unit 9 and the colourful magazine with a page a week is replaced with a little picture on a piece of card! (for the same price!)

often good, but some serious concerns
Review by C Charles | 22.03.2008
(Review written for 'Click Unit 4: 8-11s Leader's Manual')

I'm a big fan of click, and the kids in my tiny sunday school class have really enjoyed the format and lessons. I particularly like the way that it takes a logical, this-happened-which-explains-what-happened-next, biblical-theology-led approach to the structure of the programme, rather than jumping around from abraham to solomon to the damascus road to genesis in the course of a term. I have also really appreciated the way that the approach has been to teach children about their need of a saviour, then explaining that God's people live God's way, rather than taking the easy moralistic 'let's all be brave like David' approach that is so easy to fall into when teaching children. So far so good. Unfortunately, I've been really disappointed (and baffled) by this unit. Suddenly, the teaching has switched gear and the teaching sometimes seems to assume that the children are all saved. I found Session two (pictures of the children, with Chosen Adopted Forgiven labels) particularly surprising (we skipped that bit) and there have been several parts of the sessions in weeks following where I have had to do some pretty serious edits. I suspect the authors didn't intend the children to suddenly think they are all saved (well, I hope not) but at best it's very confusing. Lots of the things I love about the Click series are still there, but if your sunday school class is like mine, and includes kids who either definitely aren't saved or aren't sure that they are, I can't recommend this material wholeheartedly as some of it seems to be profoundly unhelpful.

Brilliant - just what we needed - Biblical & packed with ideas

We've found click has been excellent having got fed up skipping around topics/passages every 4 weeks it's great to take a series for a term. There are so many ideas to choose from each week which helps the less experienced leaders and there's a good mix of activities. The children look forward to their workbook -even the 11 yr olds.

The best teaching material on the market
Review by Tony Reed | 19.10.2007
(Review written for 'Click Unit 4: 8-11s Child's Component')

We have been using Click across our children's Sunday groups for thr last two years. I was keen to introduce it because it handles the Bible so well and enables leaders and children alike to see the "big picture", God's plan of salvation as it unfolds in history. Almost everybody is delighted with it, but one of our 8s to 11s groups struggles a little with the format. The leaders say there is too little in the way of supporting activities so the sessions a Bible study more suitable for older children. Interestingly enough, we have used the 8s to 11s material successfully with a young 11s to 14s group. This either means the material is very flexible, or it is a little on the old side for the target audience. However, buy it and use it! It will not let you down.

A great resource

I've found CLICK to be immensely helpful in preparing interesting, bible-focused, logically ordered sunday school lessons. CLICK is streets ahead of anything else I've used, particularly in the way it seeks to show how the whole bible hangs together - a vast improvement on the pick'n'mix approach of many other sunday school resources. My only gripe is that I wish they had skipped the pictures of Jesus in the New Testament units - I really don't like this. This aside, though, I think it is a great set of lessons and the kids like it too! Highly recommended.

Excellent

Of the 5 different sets of Sunday school materials I'ved used over the years, this is by far the best. Its sound theology and sensible activities mean it can be put in the hands of even very inexperienced leaders without concern. The focus is always on teaching the main point of the passage - not a moralistic or children's message and the activities genuinely back it up. The suggested activities actually work and the range certainly suits our circumstances and our children.

I was concerned when we started using the material that the use of the CEV would be a big problem (it's about the only Bible version no-one has). Turns out it's not really. I use the Good News, our children bring and use everything from the ESV to children's Bibles and it all pans out fine!

Good, but Bible focus and teaching time has too many set questions which make it

(Review written for 'Click Unit 6: 8-11s Leader's PACK (Manual + Posters + Child's Component)')

So far I have used about 4 sessions from the book.In general it is good biblical childrens work. The only difficulty I find is the long discussions/question and answer sessions. In order to cover all the points made in the session, it means me continually referring back to the book, which can stop the flow of the discussion.

I have not bought the work book for the children to use as it is too much like school, and not enjoyed by the majority of children.

I think an alement of craft in some of the sessions would be good to add variety. The different ways of teaching the bible verse is most useful.

very good
Review by Rachel Downie | 11.06.2007

This is the second term that we have used Click.

The content is excellent- clear guidence for telling the story.

We have a wide age range:5-10.

Using the 5-7 stuff and beefing it up for the 8-10's works well only if there is a good Bible story to tell. ( I cannot beef-up a made up story- or I suppose I wouldn't ever put in the effort to do so) so we found that not all of these sessions were useful.

The English artwork (as in the stuff in XTB ) is much better than the rest.

Good games in the 8-10 book.

Biblical, well-produced, and user-friendly

(Review written for 'Click Unit 3: 8-11s Leader's PACK (Manual + Posters + Child's Component)')

As a group of Sunday Club workers, we were looking for a contemporary, but Bible-based curriculum. Although it's still early days for us, we're finding this material seems to tick all the boxes! The material is well-produced, user-friendly, and connects with other top-class resources also provided by the Good Book Co.

This material has revolutionised our Sunday School!
Review by Linda Wilson | 22.05.2007
(Review written for 'Click Unit 2: 8-11s Child's Component')

We looked at Click for our Sunday School, after some of the children were showing an interest in our church's Christianity Explored programme. We have been thrilled with the content and layout of Units 1 and 2 for the 8-11 year olds, and have seen the children grow greatly in their spiritual interest as a result of using this material. The excellent, relevant games ideas illustrate many concepts of the lessons in a way that captures the attention of every age, and the Digging Deeper reinforces Godly thinking and maturity. We love the beautifully-done posters for our classroom, and they are especially useful since we meet in a village hall, which needs some 'decorating'! Thank you for making such superb Bible teaching material available to us.

Good bible-based teaching, well aimed.

A carefully thought out structure that covers the bible in some depth over several years.

Very helpful in what points to draw out and fairly detailed in how to teach the materials.

Sometimes the activites are a bit wierd, so useful to have something else up one's sleeve.

Suitable for a slot of half and hour to an hour or more.
