A Christmas Essential
Review by Terry Hammond | 01.03.2008

Taking his cue from an advert for a wellknown store in which celebrities were invited to describe Christmas in 3 words (the store has a 3 word name!) Vaughan Roberts in his usual engaging style offers us his own 3 words - Historical, Joyful and Essential. Using these words and copious illustrations from the activities that surround Christmas in our day, he sets out the gospel clearly and simply. It would be hard to find anything better.

It does what it says on the tin!
Review by Anonymous | 31.01.2008

The tract is very straightforward, and Vaughan Roberts gets to the heart of Christmas very quickly and ably. His use of examples are appropriate, and the small illustrated drawings are quite witty too! At A6 size, it should easily fit into one of any number of Christmas cards.

excellent
Review by Anonymous | 15.01.2008

The booklet is a clear explanation of the true meaning of Christmas. The story illustrations are appropriate and aid understanding.I personally found the booklet to be an excellent tool in re-affirming what I knew to be true. We, who know the Truth, need to be brought 'back to basicss' from time to time. For such and for those who,as yet,are unaware of the Truth this is an

excellent booklet. May the Holy Spirit open the eyes, minds and hearts of the readers.

This tells the Gospel in brief
Review by Anonymous | 11.01.2008

I found this booklet to be the Gospel in brief. I sent it with some Christmas cards where I thought it was particularly appropriate and also gave it to some of my neighbours who have no Christian interest.

It is suitable for folk from any backround spiritually and I found it to be a timely reminder of the true meaning of Christmas.

I pray that it will be read and that the Spirit of God will speak to those do. A useful tool.

Excellent leaflet, well argued, thought provoking. One of the best Christmas leaflets I've come across.

Great!

A very readable short booklet that explains the gospel clearly and has good illustrations. Although short it has enough in it to give someone who is genuinely interested something to really think about and to come back to you on.

Cleverly written, thought provoking and to the point.
Review by Timothy Hancock | 03.01.2008

This is a very affordable and well written booklet useful for outreach during the Christmas period. It connects the familiar in our culture to the story of Jesus and enables the reader, who may know little about Jesus, to be challenged about their own celebrations and their response to God's coming into the world. Worth getting hold of and using widely.

A bit too long to give away as an evangelistic tract.
Review by Anonymous | 03.01.2008

The content is good, but far too long to use as a 'give away' for use in evangelism.

An excellent give away booklet at Christmas
Review by Leslie Lucas | 03.01.2008

We gave away 400 booklets to visitors at our Carol Services, to the neighbourhood with the Parish magazine, at the local charity shop, and whilst out Carol singing! The booklet is Bible based, God focused and speaks clearly about why Jesus came at Christmas. It presents the Gospel with a credible style that is engaging without being 'preachy' or talking down to people. I recommend it.

Simple yet refreshing even for people who are familiar with the gospel
Review by Andrew Wah | 02.01.2008

It explains the gospel story simply and clearly. After reading it, I find that it presents the old, old story about Jesus in a very refreshing and relevant manner with good illustrations that makes the gospel message easy to understand, especially for people who are not accquainted with the Christian faith. Here's what it says in a nutshell:

After you read it, you will get new ideas about how to share the gospel message simply to your non-Christian friends, colleagues and neighbours around you.

We regarded it as a good booklet to give away
Review by Anonymous | 31.12.2007

Used as a give away to the whole congregation attending Christmas Eve communion, including large numbers who do not attend services regularly. 150 handed out.

Only comeback so far from one person who found it clear and helpful.

Review by Richard Jones | 31.12.2007

An excellent short evangelistic

book(let) clear and without jargon of any sort. We gave away 100 at our pre-Christmas events and could have used more.
