The Christianity Explored Study Guide is an essestial part of the CE package. It gave me a lot of confidence the first time I was involved with a programme. I have used it each time I have been run a programme and at other times just to help organise my thoughts for discussions with seekers. and

What I expected, well thought out.

This is the third CE course we have run at our church. We have found that it is a wonderful tool for people who are genuinely seeking to know and understand more about Jesus. The people who come to our courses tend to be people who have recently begun coming to church, usually because their children are attending church led events, and many parents are coming to church for the first time in their lives. They have so many questions, so much about the Bible and about Jesus that they have no knowledge of, and CE helps people to read through the entire Gospel of Mark, understand what it is they are reading, asks some personally challenging questions and encourages frank and open discussion. We are excited, encouraged and blessed to see lights switching on in peoples minds as truth is revealed to them through the Bible whilst they journey through Christianity Explored.

This workbook with the accompanying guide and dvd provides a good starting point for discussion on Christianity.

The Christianity Explored DVDs and accompanying booklets are quite superb as a Bible based, evangelistic tool for reaching fiends and neighbours et al. The meal format provides an opportutity to build open and trusting relationships which in turn allows for a full discussion on the DVD questions and home study materials. With good local leadership this material has the power to change lives.

Our church has now run three Christianity Explored courses and we have supplied all participants with the Study Guide. Feedback has been very good and all found the guide an esential companion to the course; easy to use and understand.

This well written course truely discovers the meaning of what it means to be a christian. It will answer your questions on the core believes of Christianity or strengthen your belief if you are already a follower of Christ.

The Study Guide for Christianity Explored is part of a larger package including a DVD of good, well presented talks (although you can do the talk yourself if necessary). The course covers 10 weeks introduction to Jesus and his claims, using mainly Mark's Gospel, plus an additional study on the Church, Holy Spirit, Prayer and The Bible. Each weekly meeting is designed to start with a discussion, watch the DVD/give the talk, then further discussion. However, when using this course we found that the questions for Discussion 1 of each section were answered with 2 or 3 word answers and did not actually lead to discussion. Discussion 2 was a little wider but the group often needed the question rewording and widening before they responded. Some of our group struggled with the homework section feeling that it often assumed a wider knowledge of Christianity than they had. As this is an introduction to Christianity this was disappointing.

Good as a basis to start from but, as would be expected from any course, be prepared to adapt to the needs and knowledge of the people doing the study.

Most questions draw this out, but sometimes the questions are either too obvious, or it is hard to know what answers the questions are seeking, which is why course leader must also have the Leaders' Handbook! Be prepared when very personal questions at the end of a study may be met with a group's embarrassed silence.
