Everywhere women face choices — home or career, money or relationships, 'secure' marriage or 'free' singleness, using your looks to get on or ignoring your looks and getting ignored, competing with the boys or retreating into the sisterhood ghetto, the 'progress' of feminism or the 'nostalgia' of motherhood and apple-pie, women bishops or tea-ladies and baby-sitters?

Our culture has plenty to say on all these issues. But a Christian woman, seeking to live for her Lord, will first of all want to find out God's design, purposes and promises for women.

And here's the book to help. Sarah Young, in this set of nine Bible studies, aims to answer questions such as? What does the Bible say about the 'big issues' facing women today? How should this affect my own life? How can I be helped to live like this in a society with a very different agenda? Some things will be controversial in our culture, even in some of our churches. This course doesn't set out to be politically correct but faithful to Scripture

Suitable for groups or individuals, this guide covers all the major Bible teaching specific to women. Set within the big picture of God's redemption of sinners through Jesus Christ, the heart-felt aim is that 21st century women will be enabled to live obediently and joyfully for Christ, as women after his own heart.

excellent resource with helpful notes

Really enjoyed using this resource in 121 sessions with younger girls from church. Great notes in the back- very insightful. The questions are not too basic either, unlike some bible notes.

Excellent resource for women's biblestudies
Review by Ruth Tuckwell | 21.10.2007

I bought this book for use with my women's biblestudy group and have found it really helpful. The questions help you get to the heart of the issue and the leaders notes in the back provide some helpful ideas as well as giving clear direction for the study. We have 1 hour and the studies have been a good length for this. Being a topical book each study does refer to more than one passage. Generally there is 1 main passage which helps but we did find the study in marriage slightly harder due to the number of different passages it references. Each was really helpful but for the new Christians in our group it was harder going. However, overall I've been really impressed and have now lent the book to a friend to use with her group.

An incredibly helpful and life-changing book of studies

This book takes you through some very accessible studies and helps you to really get to grips with the issues facing Christian woment today, particularly in comparing the world's views with God's wisdom.

Of specific help to me were the chapters on marriage and singleness. God really used these studies to help me with the issues I was grappling with and to change my perspective on both.

I would thoroughly recommend it to every Christian woman!

Facing today's issues with Biblical attitude.

I am using this book with three young women as a basis for Bible study and prayer. We have all been Christians for several years. I am the only married woman and am 20 years older than the other three. All four of us are very enthusiastic about the variety of topics and also the content of each study. We all have learned something new each week. For example, that God himself is referred to as our helper, so 'helper' is not a patronising or demeaning term for a less significant individual. We have been surprised to find so much new in well-known stories from Genesis. We are very grateful to have found this study book. Thanks. (and sorry it took me so long to send this review.)

Easily laid out to follow, good questions to get you thinking and suggested further reading within the Bible and useful books.

All in all very interesting and useful for anyone struggling with a woman's role within Christianity.

excellent!
Review by Diane Scholes | 22.05.2007

I found completing the studies in the above book such a blessing. They are written in such a way that the passage is completely applicable to daily life and issues. It is the first study guide that has really challenged me, built me up, and encouraged me to be stronger in my identity as a female made in God's image. I would recommend this guide for anyone wanting to consider issues from a female perspective and learn to live as a true woman of God.
