Acts of the Apostles? A better way to describe Luke's second volume would be 'the acts of the risen Christ'. He wants his gospel to go out to the ends of the earth, and neither persecution nor opposition is going to stop him. The mission on which Christ sends his apostles is truly Mission Unstoppable.

These ten studies take the reader through the book of Acts, examining the Biblical text in detail and drawing out the implications for our lives.

An ideal guide for individual Bible study or for use in small groups.

A good thought provoking history of Acts
Review by James Berge | 09.01.2008

We studied this in a home group of about 8 over the course of 10 weeks. It provided some interesting discussions & challenges. However, undertaking Acts in 10 weeks does require large sections, often 2-3 chapters to be read each session. The most is always got out of the study if the passages are read previously and therefore each participate has a copy of the book.

really helps digging deeper into Acts
Review by Marcus Bloch | 06.09.2007

We are working through Acts in a cell group of 9 (using one copy per person). The questions and texts equip us with a better understanding of the patterns behind the things going on in Acts and the work of the risen Christ, spurring us to dig deep into the text and relating to other passages.

I clearly gain most benefit when I prepare each session for myself before, focussing on the "think ahead" topics during meetings.

As a result, I've learnt things I simply never recognized before, although I had read Acts for several times.

We appreciated the clarity and style of the language - none of us being a native English speaker, we never faced a serious problem in understanding! :-)

To sum it up: Very advisable if you are ready to "labour in the Word" and eager to obtain deeper knowledge on the ongoing Work of the Lord Jesus!
